Howard Fisher, Esq.

Howard S. Fisher is a member of the California Bar, and the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn ([London, England - Student Bencher]). Mr. Fisher studied at the American College In Paris, and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 1973. He studied law at Southwestern University (J.D. 1976), the University of Cambridge, in England (LL.B. with honours 1977, Corpus Christi College), and completed post-graduate studies in international business and taxation at Harvard University Law School (PIL).

Mr. Fisher specializes in representing wealthy entrepreneurs and their families - his practice includes tax planning, business and commercial transactions, real estate transactions, trust/estate litigation and tax controversy.

Mr. Fisher has published more than thirty articles, and has spoken at over 140 conferences around the world. He has lectured for the American Bar Association, American Academy of Hospital Attorneys, American Medical Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Cancer Society, California Society of Public Accountants, California State Bar Association, Florida State Bar Association, International Fiscal Association, International Fiscal Executives, Los Angeles County Bar Association, National Association of Health Care Attorneys, Offshore Investment (Jesus College, Oxford University), University of Notre Dame’s Tax Institute, and the University of Southern California's Federal Tax Institute, and the World Trade Institute. He has lectured for the Graduate School of Accounting at the University of Southern California on taxation, and for the University of California at Los Angeles on tax and international business.

Mr. Fisher is a past chair of the California State Bar's Taxation Section, past President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, is a past and chair of the Beverly Hills Bar's Taxation Section (twice), a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and is a former secretary of the Western Division of the United States branch of the International Fiscal Association.

Additionally, Mr. Fisher is the co-author of It Wasn’t Raining When Noah Built The Ark, a treatise on asset protection, and assisted with revisions for the first two volumes of the five volume treatise on international tax published by Matthew Bender & Co., authored by Rufus v. Rhoades, originally entitled Income Taxation Of Foreign Related Transactions. Mr. Fisher co-founded the U.C.L.A. Tax Disputes Institute.

Mr. Fisher is active in civic and community matters. He is currently the elected Treasurer of the City of Beverly Hills, and has previously been the Chair of the City’s Planning Commission and Public Works Commission, and served on the Beverly Hills Traffic & Parking Commission. He has been rated in The Top 100 lawyers in Southern California.
